LUNEBORNE — moon phases
THE STORY

Born Beneath the Moon.
Made by Hand.

LUNEBORNE began at an oak table in a Cornwall lighthouse village — with one notebook, eight phases, and a grandmother who taught me what we wear is never neutral.

THE FOUNDER

The Moon Was
My First Teacher.

I am Eleanor Marlowe. I was born in a lighthouse village on the Cornish coast — the kind of place where the tide writes the day and every grandmother knows the shape of last night’s moon.

Mine was the last “moon midwife” in our parish. Every birth she attended was logged precisely against the lunar phase and the tide that night. She knew what I never asked. The first thing she ever told me about myself was a sentence I am still slowly understanding:

“You were born on a Waning Gibbous, so you will always be a teacher.”

I left the village. I studied mineralogy and cultural anthropology at UCLA. I spent six years at the Getty in Los Angeles researching prehistoric jewelry — how women in ancient cultures chose what to wear, and why. The further I traveled, the more I returned to her notebook.

THE PATTERN

From a Notebook
To a Brand.

In early 2024 I sat down at my kitchen table to translate my grandmother’s notebook into English. I expected to find folklore. What I found instead was a pattern.

Her “moon × mineral” pairings — written in a small Cornwall parish over four decades — aligned in 70% of the details with Native American shamanic ceremonies, Japanese Shinto purification rites, and Indian Ayurvedic gem therapy. Across continents and centuries, women had been making the same correspondences. Quietly. Without conferences.

I made the first batch of moon-phase bracelets that spring — only as gifts for women friends. One of them wore the New Moon bracelet through the hardest divorce of her life. When she handed it back to me a year later she said, “Don’t take it apart. Other women need this.”

That was the moment LUNEBORNE became a brand.

CRAFT · PHILOSOPHY

Independent Design.
Small-batch Hands.

Every LUNEBORNE piece is designed in-house. Each design begins with a phase, an intention, and a stone — never a trend forecast. Proportion, weight, the way light catches the cabochon at certain angles — nothing is accidental.

We do not chase seasons. We make pieces meant to keep you company for a long, long time.

All collections are produced by hand in small batches at our studio. Each strand carries its own grain and personality. We do not promise identical finish — we promise rigorous stone-selection, careful hand-stringing, and a final cleansing under the corresponding moon phase before any piece leaves us.

WHAT WE PROMISE

Four Quiet Standards

01

Small-batch Handcraft

Limited release each phase, one phase at a time. Never assembly-line. Every strand is energetically cleansed by Eleanor herself before shipping.

02

Traceable Stones

All crystals come from family-run mines in Brazil, Madagascar, and India. Every stone’s origin and cutter can be traced upon request.

03

14K Gold-Plated

All metal hardware is plated in real 14K gold with an anti-tarnish coating. Wear daily — including in the shower — for at least two years before the plating begins to soften.

04

Intention Card

Every order ships with a hand-written moon-intention card. Place your wish beneath the crystal — and wait for the next phase to answer.

A NOTE

If You Are Reading This,

somewhere a Moon was full when you were born. It still is, every twenty-eight days. LUNEBORNE is not fashion — we make ritual. Every piece corresponds to one phase, one stone, one stage of life.

When you put it on, I hope you remember: you are not alone. The Moon has been with you all along.
